Turning meaningful missions into memorable content.

Hey, I’m Emma! A Cornish traveller, writer, house sitter and life enthusiast.

As a travel writer, I write long-form features for online and print publications, with a focus on slow, solo and sustainable travel. For brands, I draw from 20+ years (I know, I don’t look old enough) of travel and business experience to turn meaningful missions into content that inspires action.

You’ll also find me on Substack and socials writing about house sitting, solo travel and the realities of living a bill-free life.

Stories aren’t just a nice-to-have, they’re what make people care.

And when people care, they act. They book that trip, join that movement, support that cause.

Your story is what truly sets you apart. It’s your unique fingerprint, ready to leave its mark on the world.

But when you’re in the thick of it, it can be hard to see the extraordinary elements of your journey. I get it. And that’s where an outside perspective comes in handy.

A vivid story...
"What I love about this is the simplicity of the premise paired with the sophistication of the execution. The writer turns a border-crossing bike path into a vivid story about the joy of travelling at human speed. It's useful without ever feeling like service, and shows that sustainable travel stories can be ambitious without feeling didactic. Reading it makes you want to lace up, hop on a bike and rethink what a 'European break' can be."

One of my favorite pieces...
"As a founder, you always love reading the articles mentioning your company, but I have to say, this one was one of my favorite pieces, it was written beautifully and it captured the essence of Greether and my vision beautifully."

– Vanessa Karel | Founder, Greether
I can't recommend my experience enough...
"All Emma needed from me was one Zoom call to ask all of the right questions to draw the necessary information about my history to create an incredible 'About Page' which now speaks to who I am, what my company stands for and the vision we have. Her ability to condense a lot of spoken babble down into a concise and meaningful story is incredible. I can't recommend my experience enough!"

– Joshua Reynolds | Founder Zellor Management
She has a talent for translating ideas into content that connects...
"Emma took the time to really dig into the detail, asking the right questions, gathering insight, and building a strong understanding of both my audience and what they needed to hear. What stood out most was how little editing was needed - something that’s very rare. She has a real talent for words, messaging, and translating ideas into content that genuinely connects.

Celebrating positive impact storytelling...

What a fun evening it was at the Inspire Global Media Awards in April 2026. Not only because I got to meet some travel friends in real life for the first time, but also because I was awarded Highly Commended for Consumer Feature of the Year (Europe).

The IGMAs are the only media event solely dedicated to celebrating sustainable, positive impact storytelling.

My piece on borderless biking for BBC Travel explores how open borders have opened minds across the Moselle region, and was also selected as one of BBC Travel’s favourite stories of 2025.
